Just because it makes a good nick-name doesn't make it real.

Vampires are obviously a legend.

He was based, if I have my facts correct, on Vlad the Impaler. A rather nasty bloke who did exist.
But vampires, as in undead, blood-sucking creatures do not

Post by neoraptor Sun 23 Nov 2008 - 6:07

Vampires as a super-natural creature do not exist any more than Werewolves or other weird beings
The concept of Vampires could have arisen for a number of reasons, like the idea of a flat earth could have arisen for a number of reasons
VAMPIRE REASONS
Not to mention the fact that Dracula was first mentioned in a STORY, based on another STORY written for a GHOST WRITING COMPETITION

I'm just trying to nip the whole idea of vampires existing in the bud, before people start blindly ranting on about how they feel and believe that they are real

Not really. See, you can love the character, but you cannotbe in love with him. When loving a concept you love the concpet, but are not in love with it. Like:
"I love cake" not "I'm in love with cake"
Back towards interesting debate, and away from the disturbing realm of philosiphy: Are you for, or against vampires existing?

How is there any argument for the existance of a vampire?
They are not real like zombies, werewolves and ogres.

Sentances are always usefil forege.
If you must post something at least finish the thought rather than leaving it hanging.

Nosferatu was actually a 1922 silent film about vampires, and it was called Nosferatu because they couldn't get the rights to Dracula.

Excellent, sprinkle in a bit of grammer and you'll be a useful and respected member of the community.

Nosferatu is actually meant to be very good. The 'classic' vampire movie, which spawned many of the vampire stereotypes, such as not being able to go out in the sunlight. And since it is very old it's in public domain, which means you could download it for free, 100% legally!

Back to the point, I am 99% certain vampires don't exist (which is the most you can be, since its impossible to be certain about anything outside of mathematics).
