Religion Empty Re: Religion

Post by V-Raptor Fri 5 Dec 2008 - 7:04

Well, for me, religion is the need to know. People couldn't figure out how, or why they appeared in this world, so they created an illogical reason, but at the same time it was wrong, it made people feel well!

But religion might fade away with time...
For example, if we were in ancient romr and a plane passed by, we would say it was an act of God, but now we just say it is technology.

So religion was/is a way of explaining things which people don't understand?

I really don't know...............when people ask and I saw atheist, the mock the hell out of me............but I think I'll stick with that

How on earth do you get mocked? I can think of arguments against atheism, but not mocking comments
Agnostic atheism is probably the best option (There is no God, but we will never know for sure). Or maybe apathetic agnostic atheism (There is no God but we will never know for sure and I don't really care anyway)
In my class of what, 15 people perhaps, only 3 are religious.

I'd call it agnosticism. Logic says God doesn't exist. Religion says he does. Agnosticism says we don't know.

I don't think it actually says that the earth is flat (very few people ever have believed that it is flat)
Me wrote:Why does God not prove himself?
Religious guy wrote:Proof removes faith, and without faith God is nothing
Later on in the conversation
Religious guy wrote:The fact that the earth is so complex is proof of God

Straight from the horses mouth, God is nothing.
